Locksmith Armadale: Get Immediate Help When You Need It Most

Losing the keys to a rental in Armadale brings an extra party into it. Your property manager or landlord may hold a spare, which solves the immediate access problem, but it does not resolve the missing key still being out there somewhere.

How this usually needs to be handled:

Tell the agent or landlord promptly — do not wait until inspection
Getting back in and changing the locks are two different things
Changing locks during a tenancy generally needs the other party’s consent
Keep receipts, as cost is usually a matter for your agreement
The landlord will need a key to any lock that is changed

In Western Australia there are specific exceptions to the consent rule, including for tenants affected by family and domestic violence. Consumer Protection WA sets out the current position — worth reading rather than relying on what anyone tells you.

Call us about a rental in Armadale and we will work in with the agent.

Local Locksmithing in Armadale

Within Perth’s south-eastern suburbs, Armadale lies roughly 25 km south-east of the Perth CBD. The setting is the foot of the Darling Scarp, where the coastal plain gives way to treed hills, steeper blocks and bushland reserve. What that means here is a broad spread of lock types, and a missing key rarely opens just one of them.

Around Armadale, these are the circumstances that usually prompt the call:

Sets that have passed through several owners and were never fully reset
Sheds, patios and laundry doors that shared keys with the main house
Spare keys given to family years ago and long since misplaced
Keys lost with a bag or wallet that also carried the address
Sets that went missing somewhere between the car and the front door
Keys never returned at the end of a tenancy or a house share

Count the doors before we arrive. Front and back are obvious; the ones that get missed are the security screen, the garage side door, the laundry, the side gate and the shed. If they were on the missing ring they need doing too, and including them from the start keeps it to one visit and one quote at a Armadale property.

The surrounding suburbs, including lost keys in Mount Nasura, Mount Richon, Seville Grove, Brookdale and Kelmscott, are covered on the same service run. Ring us and we will sort out a time that works.
