Rekeying locks in Secret Harbour without changing the look of your doors — the handles and deadlocks stay, the key changes.
Locksmith Secret Harbour: Get Immediate Help When You Need It Most
Tenancy changeovers are one of the steadier reasons we rekey locks in Secret Harbour. Keys get copied over a long tenancy, and a returned set is not evidence that it was the only set. Rekeying between tenants is quick, keeps the existing hardware, and gives the incoming tenant a property nobody else can open.
What we are usually asked to do for owners and property managers:
- Rekey all external doors between tenancies
- Cut a defined number of key sets and account for each one
- Key alike so one tenant key covers every external door
- Check that door and window hardware still operates as it should
- Work to an agreed appointment so the changeover is not held up
In Western Australia the landlord is responsible for the property meeting minimum security standards, and locks must not be removed or changed without the tenant’s consent while a tenancy is running. Confirm the current requirements with Consumer Protection WA — the rules are theirs, not ours.

Local Locksmithing in Secret Harbour
Secret Harbour is located roughly 50 km south of the Perth CBD. It falls within Perth’s southern suburbs, where the setting is the coastal plain within easy reach of the beach, where the afternoon sea breeze is a reliable part of the summer routine. The doors we are asked to rekey vary accordingly.
Around Secret Harbour, these are the situations that usually prompt the call:
- Alfresco sliders and internal garage doors added to the main key
- Newly completed houses rekeyed at practical completion
- Side gates and store rooms brought onto the same key as the front door
- Rentals being rekeyed between one tenancy and the next
- Security screen doors on a different key to the door behind them
- Garage side doors and side gates left on whatever key came with the house
Tenants in Western Australia who are affected by family and domestic violence can change locks without prior permission, at their own cost, and must give the landlord a copy of the new key within seven days unless the landlord is the alleged perpetrator. Consumer Protection’s Safe Tenancy WA information sets out how this works — worth reading first if it applies to you.
We travel to Golden Bay, Karnup, Singleton, Port Kennedy and Keralup and the wider district as well. Call us to discuss the job and we will let you know honestly when we can be there.
