Locksmith Hillarys: Get Immediate Help When You Need It Most
Tenancy changeovers are one of the steadier reasons we rekey locks in Hillarys. Keys get copied over a long tenancy, and a returned set is not evidence that it was the only set. Rekeying between tenants is quick, keeps the existing hardware, and gives the incoming tenant a property nobody else can open.
What we are usually asked to do for owners and property managers:
- Rekey all external doors between tenancies
- Cut a defined number of key sets and account for each one
- Key alike so one tenant key covers every external door
- Check that door and window hardware still operates as it should
- Work to an agreed appointment so the changeover is not held up
In Western Australia the landlord is responsible for the property meeting minimum security standards, and locks must not be removed or changed without the tenant’s consent while a tenancy is running. Confirm the current requirements with Consumer Protection WA — the rules are theirs, not ours.

Local Locksmithing in Hillarys
Part of Perth’s northern suburbs and lying roughly 20 km north-west of the Perth CBD, Hillarys is a suburb we are called to often. The landscape here is Perth’s sandy coastline, with dune systems, coastal reserve and beach access never far away, and the housing stock shapes the work.
What we are most often asked to rekey on Hillarys properties:
- External cylinders near the coast that have stiffened up with salt air
- Holiday and short-stay properties rekeyed between managers or guests
- Security screens on every opening, each with its own lock to account for
- Lost keys that went missing along with a bag, wallet or phone
- Rentals being rekeyed between one tenancy and the next
- Security screen doors on a different key to the door behind them
Where key control matters, rekeying is only half the answer. A standard key can be copied at any key-cutting counter, and stamping it ‘do not duplicate’ carries no legal weight. Restricted systems use protected keyways and issue copies only against a signed authority. For most Hillarys homes that is more than is needed; for business premises and some rentals it is exactly right.
We also work throughout Sorrento lock rekeying, Kallaroo, Padbury, Craigie and Duncraig. If your property sits anywhere in this pocket of Perth, get in touch about a rekey.
