Locksmith Glen Forrest: Get Immediate Help When You Need It Most
Building work leaves keys behind it. Over a renovation on a property in Glen Forrest a key may pass through a builder, several subcontractors, a cleaner and whoever was handed one for a delivery. None of that is sinister — it is simply how a site runs — but at handover it means the key count is unknown. Rekeying at completion draws a line under it.
The same applies to properties with rotating access:
- Short-stay and holiday rentals between guests or managers
- Homes that were on the market with a lockbox key in use
- Properties that sat vacant with keys held by several parties
- Granny flats and studios let separately from the main house
- Sheds and workshops that trades had open access to
It is a small job at the end of a large one, and it is the point at which the property genuinely becomes yours alone.
Get in touch once the work at your Glen Forrest property is finished and we will sort the keys out.

Local Locksmithing in Glen Forrest
Glen Forrest, roughly 25 km east of the Perth CBD and part of the Perth Hills, is inside our everyday service area. The surrounding landscape is the Darling Scarp, where jarrah and marri bush, gullies and larger treed blocks replace the flat coastal plain, and the local property mix tells us a good deal before we arrive.
The rekeying jobs that come up most often around Glen Forrest include:
- Outbuildings and studios that were added years after the house
- Long driveways and gates that need a key kept in more than one vehicle
- Properties where trades have had open access during building work
- Garage side doors and side gates left on whatever key came with the house
- Worn keys that have to be lifted or jiggled before the lock will turn
- Homes bought at settlement where nobody can say how many keys exist
For rentals, the framework is set by WA law rather than by us. The landlord is responsible for the property meeting minimum security standards — door locks, window locks and a light at the main entry — and locks must not be removed or changed without the other party’s consent during a tenancy. Confirm the current position with Consumer Protection WA before making changes.
The surrounding suburbs, including Darlington lock rekeying, Boya, Mahogany Creek, Greenmount and Sawyers Valley, are covered on the same service run. Give us a call and we will sort out a time that works.
