Locksmith Sorrento: Get Immediate Help When You Need It Most

One part of WA’s minimum security standard is not a locksmith’s job at all, and it is worth saying so plainly. The standard requires an electrical light at or near the main entry, capable of lighting it and operable from inside. That is an electrician’s work, not ours.

Where the line falls on a typical Sorrento property:

Door locks, window locks, screens and hardware — our work
The entry light and its switching — a licensed electrician
Where the property is a flat or apartment, lighting may be the strata body’s
We will tell you what is missing even where we cannot fit it ourselves
Getting both done before a tenancy starts avoids a second conversation

We would rather point you to the right trade than quote for something outside our licence. It is the same reason we do not do car keys.

Call us about the lock side of a Sorrento property and we will be clear about the rest.

Local Locksmithing in Sorrento

Sorrento is located roughly 15 km north-west of the Perth CBD, within Perth’s northern suburbs. The setting is Perth’s sandy coastline, with dune systems, coastal reserve and beach access never far away, and the mix of older and newer homes here is what decides the right approach.

The installation work that comes up most often around Sorrento includes:

Hardware chosen for salt exposure rather than whatever was cheapest
Security screens on every opening, each needing its own lock
Sliding doors facing the weather where the existing latch has corroded
Front doors with a handset lock and no deadlock behind it
Sliding doors relying on the basic latch they were built with
Windows with no working lock on the ground floor

The lock is only ever half the job. A deadlock anchored into soft architrave with short screws will lose to the frame long before it loses to the cylinder, so we look at the jamb, the strike, the hinges and whether the door has dropped. On older Sorrento homes the frame is often the real weak point.

The surrounding suburbs, including Hillarys, Padbury, Duncraig, Kallaroo and Craigie, are covered on the same service run. Give us a call and we will sort out a time.
